HARDCORE UNIT (HU SQUARD ) was an East Africa hip hop group from
Arusha,Tanzania , widely considered one of the seminal acts of the
hardcore rap and sometimes credited as the most important group in the
history of Arusha rap music. Active from 1996 to early 2000, . The group
firstly recorded in 1997 at Mawingu Club in a mixtape prepared by
Jumanne which was known as “Pass the Mic around” which was included many
hardcore rappers of that time like X-plastaz,Stopa Rymes and others,in the same year they recorded “Rap si Mchezo” under the same guy J4.
1998 around Majengo ya Juu slams they met H.E HON. GEORDAVIE, THE
PRESIDING ARCHBISHOP FATHER, FOUNDING PRESIDENT OF THE GCM - N.Y.U.
DIPLOMATS WORLDWIDE AND N.Y.U. FM RADIO 99.2 ARUSHA who was working in
one of the Studio as producer and they recorded the song called
‘Mtanzania” which did well introduce them to the local radio stations.
After they Graduate from secondary school members they found
automatical separated due to the street differences and situations.Since
they were all in love with the Music everyone formed his own group.As
they all said beef was not one of the reason to them to separate it was
just happened so they call it “Just the Situation”
The
original lineup consisted of Isack Waziri a.k.a Lord Eyes/Izyy Nako who
is now a Member of WEUSI as well as a leader of “NAKO TO NAKO
Soldiers”, another Member was Jacob Makalla a.k.a Jcb Makalla who is now
a leading member of “WATENGWA” one of the respected Hip Hop crew in
East Africa as well as Andrew Msechu,Most of the people recorgnise him
as SPACK DAWG who is now a Leader of “KID CAN KILL” (KCK).another member
was Mastiff Muya who is now living in Dar es salaam.
